Shibadong area honored for village planning

13 provincial-level demonstration areas for village planning were announced on April 21, which marks the 55th World Earth Day. The Shibadong area of Huayuan County in Xiangxi Prefecture is one of them.

The Shibadong area of Huayuan County is mainly populated by the Miao people, with 8 villages that are adjacent to each other and that are integrated culturally and economically. In recent years, Huayuan County, taking Shibadong village as a model, has encouraged surrounding villages to develop characteristic industries, improve infrastructure as well as living environment, and cultivate civilized new atmosphere, in order to promote rural revitalization and increase people’s income.

As of now, a mechanism, a specialized team, and a development plan have been established for the coordinated development of the Shibadong area.

This year, Huayuan County will implement the rural revitalization plan for the Shibadong Area and strive to complete 40 projects for balanced development pertaining to basic improvement, industrial development, cultural tourism, and education to promote comprehensive rural revitalization.
